A peaceful sunrise view over calm water, with a wooden bench beneath a tree — evoking stillness and a new beginning

A safe space to start
where you are, and move
forward together.

Warm, judgement-free counselling to enable personal growth, ease anxiety, stress, relationships, depression, grief — or simply feeling stuck and overwhelmed with life.

You don’t have to go through it alone.

🌿

Carrying Too Much?

When everything feels heavy and you’re not sure where to start.

We begin by slowing things down and identifying what feels most burdensome. From there, we work to organise your thoughts, understand emotional triggers, attachment patterns and build practical ways to manage life and its stressors more effectively.

🌱

Feeling Stuck?

You’ve been trying to move forward but keep getting pulled into the same patterns.

We work to identify recurring cognitive and behavioural patterns that may be maintaining this sense of being stuck. “I try so hard, and nothing works” or “I don’t know what to change.” From there, the focus shifts to developing more adaptive ways of responding that support meaningful and lasting change.

🌸

Not Quite Yourself?

You’re functioning on the outside, but something feels off, disconnected, or harder than it should be.

This involves understanding the underlying factors contributing to that sense of disconnection, working towards improving emotional awareness, nervous system regulation, the impact of our past experiences on our present and overall psychological well-being.

“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable.”

— Fred Rogers

Real experiences, real change

★★★★★

“With Anaitha, I can be, Me.

I am incredibly grateful for the transformative experience I’ve had with her. In just a few sessions, she has helped me gain clear insights into my childhood experiences and their impact on my daily life and behaviour. Her high emotional intelligence creates a safe, non-judgmental space that helped in my self-exploration.

Through our sessions, I have not only identified the root causes of my behavioural patterns but also developed practical strategies to manage it effectively.

I highly recommend her services to anyone seeking a deeper understanding of themselves in a supportive and professional environment. Her ability to connect on a personal level while maintaining professionalism is truly remarkable.”

— KAP, Individual Counselling
★★★★★

“Anaitha is an extremely knowledgeable, relatable and professional therapist.

I came to her with complex family dynamics to navigate and years of suppressed unhealed trauma from very specific events.

She gave me weekly homework to do and guided me through resources available to maximise my mental healing.

She listened, asked respectful yet provoking questions in a warm and safe environment.

She allowed me to process my emotions, identify my triggers and guide me with validation, empathy and encouragement in a way to enlightenment.

I feel in control of my emotions now, aware of my triggers and at peace with the past.

Anaitha helped me find closure to painful situations and gave me the tools to deal with future uncomfortable moments that may arise with clarity, understanding, rationality, confidence and self-acceptance.

Thank you for changing my life, Anaitha. I am forever grateful!”

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”

Therapy is a collaborative, ongoing process

It is not designed to provide quick fixes or ready-made answers. Instead, it creates space to understand your experiences more deeply, reflect, identify patterns in how you think and respond, and begin working towards meaningful and lasting change. Anaitha’s approach is holistic — our life, who we are, what we choose, who we choose, our health are all significant. Every symptom has meaning that is telling us something. Situations and conditions don’t require a band-aid or a pill to feel better; they require a deep understanding of what we are dealing with in the first place, in order to find a way to solve for it.

While conversation is an important part of the process, the work goes beyond simply talking. Sessions are structured to help you reflect more clearly, build awareness, and develop practical and behavioural ways of responding to challenges.

There is no expectation to move faster than you are ready for. The pace remains steady, intentional, and guided by what feels manageable for you.

Therapy is a process, not a quick fix. It unfolds over time and is tailored to you.
It requires your participation. Change happens through reflection, openness, and consistent engagement.
This isn’t just talk therapy. Together, we explore patterns, build awareness, and develop practical ways forward backed by studies but in a humanistic way.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Counselling can be helpful whenever you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain — regardless of whether you are in crisis or simply looking for greater clarity and support. If you are curious about whether it might be useful, a free initial consultation is a low-pressure way to explore that. Think of it as a confidential, safe, judgement-free space to explore thoughts and ideas that you haven’t been able to figure out on your own. Sometimes the right questions will help you find the answers you knew all along.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a chance to get to know each other. We talk through what has brought you in and what you are hoping to work through. There is no pressure to share more than you are comfortable with.
Is therapy confidential? +
Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of the therapeutic process. What you share in sessions remains private, with a few standard exceptions (such as situations involving risk of harm to yourself or others), which will be explained clearly at the outset.
How long will I need to be in therapy? +
There is no fixed duration. The length of therapy depends on your goals, the nature of the concerns you’re working through, and the pace at which you feel comfortable progressing. Some people attend for a few sessions, while others find value in longer-term work.
How often are sessions scheduled? +
Sessions are typically held once a week, especially at the beginning, to maintain continuity and momentum. This can be adjusted over time depending on your needs and progress.
What if I don’t know what to say? +
That’s completely okay. You don’t need to prepare in advance or have everything clearly articulated. Part of the process is making sense of thoughts and feelings as they come up. We begin with where you are, and the counsellor’s job is to guide you to where you wish to be.
Is therapy just talking? +
While therapy is conversational in nature, it is also an evidence-based structured process. Goal setting, reflection, behavioural activation, journaling, mindfulness, genograms, role-playing, and somatic stress release are just a few tools and practices we may introduce in sessions, depending on what is most helpful for you.
Do you offer online sessions? +
Yes. Sessions are conducted online via a secure platform. This allows for flexibility and accessibility, while maintaining the same level of care and confidentiality. Research shows online therapy is equally as effective as in-person sessions, delivering the same quality of support wherever you are.
Who can avail counselling? +
We work with individuals (12+), couples, and teenagers and young adults across a range of emotional and relational concerns.
What kind of therapy is offered? +
We offer counselling for grief, trauma, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, and a general sense of stuckness or disconnection. Sessions draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Attachment Theory, and Person Centred Therapy.
Can you prescribe medication? +
No. ANew Horizon Counselling is a counselling service focused on supporting clients through conversation, reflection, and evidence-based therapeutic tools. For medication, please speak with a qualified psychiatrist or your GP.

If you’re ready to take the next step,
I’m here to support you.
